4. Color Burst Lip Butter by Revlon Unlike many lipsticks that leave your lips feeling dry or over colored, this lip butter provides the perfect amount of color and moisture.  I wear it day and night, and at any time of year.  My go to is Peach Parfait, but I also frequently use Pink Lemonade.

FAVORITE COLLECTION: FALL 2014

After failing to dress appropriately for the sudden Fall-like weather last week, I have determined that it is time to let go of Summer, and embrace the change of seasons.  Fringe, leather, fur, and knits are a few trends that I have my eye on.

At the Fall 2014 Fashion Week, Calvin Klein, Stella McCartney, and Marc Jacobs brought knits front and center.  Loose chunky sweaters, with a hand-knit appearance, and chic sweater dresses are among some of my favorite looks.  Leather is making quite an impact as well.  Skirts, dresses, jackets, and pants are trimmed or entirely made of leather. And fur.  This cold weather classic, made a showstopping appearance in an array of shocking colors and patterns.  

As I have mentioned before, one of my favorite sources for Fashion Week coverage is the New York Times.  Online, they provide photographs of each collection, organized by show and designer.  After reviewing the Fall 2014 photographs, I have determined that one of the most inspiring collections is Burberry.  The collection features classic Fall items including ponchos, wraps, scarves, and jackets.  Painterly and tribal inspired patterns are colored in saturated blue, rich burgundy, vibrant mustard, and muted rose.  Many patterns also share a similarity to designs by William Morris during the Arts & Crafts Movement.  

I love the layering affect created by scarves wrapped over dresses or jackets, and finished with a belt.  Maybe this exact look isn't for you, but I feel there is something that everyone can take from this collection; whether it's the color palette, the pairing of multiple patterns, or the layering effect.
