I recently discovered that some of my favorite accessories are tortoise; sunglasses, watches, bangles, necklaces...the list goes on and on. This classic material looks great with any outfit. I particularly love pairing tortoise with coral in the summertime or all black in the wintertime, making this the perfect accessory for any season.
Due to its durability and beauty, this prized material has been a favorite since ancient times. It was used for a variety of items including combs, glasses, furniture inlays, frames, and other items. Originally, the Hawksbill Turtle was hunted for it's prized shell. Later the use of real tortoiseshell was banned, and imitation materials such as plastic and stained horn gained popularity.
As spring slowly creeps in, the need for a fresh accessory arrives. One of my many fashion addictions is sunglasses. I believe there is no such thing as having too many pairs! There are so many different shapes and colors to chose from; cat eye, Wayfarers, Aviators, over sized Jackie O glasses, and Club Masters... and this doesn't even consider the range of colors available.
