THIS MONTH'S OBSESSION: LEAFY GREEN

This month I am loving leafy green fabrics and wallcoverings.  Perhaps this is due to India Hicks’s book Island Style or maybe it is the thought of hot summer days.  Paired with rattan baskets, summery sisals, and gold hardware,  they are the perfect graphic element to any room.  Here is some pre-weekend leafy green inspiration.

In addition to "Island Style" India Hicks showcases a cohesive line of jewelry, accessories, and fragrances.  The collection features her signature beetle, which she describes as "a welcome visitor in our Bahamian home.  I believe this gentle chap brought me much luck: five children and house filled with happiness."

The collection is great for gifts or personal enjoyment. My favorites include the body wash and lotion in English Rose, inspired by Ms. Hicks's English upbringing. ISLAND STYLE: INDIA HICKS

I was recently inspired by the arrival of my copy of India Hick's book "Island Style."  I was fortunate enough to meet Ms. Hicks during her visit to Boston a few weeks ago.  Upon entering afternoon tea at Mohr & McPherson, I was greeted by one of the most stunning, inspiring, and witty designers I have ever met.  A former model, mother, business woman, decorator, and once Princess Diana's flower girl, India Hicks resides on Harbor Island with her family and dogs.  Her recent publication, "Island Style," features endless inspiration and tips on how to achieve her laid-back, bohemian, island style. I highly recommend grabbing a copy for your book collection.
