One of my favorite places for nautical interior inspiration and excellent seafood is Cru. Designed by Gauthier-Stacy, a Boston based firm, this restaurant sits on Nantucket harbor, making it a great spot for a dark and stormy and a couple oysters. The interior has the feel of an updated ship. Rustic boards are juxtaposed with sparkling nickel and glass. Crisp white sails drape from the rafters creating a billowing affect. One of my favorite features of the interior is the lighting. Included are glass ball chandeliers, drift wood and crystal chandeliers, and simple sconces with delicate paper shades. Outside you will find whimsical wood wing chairs and characterful yellow side tables. Views span out across Nantucket Harbor, and the array of seafood and drinks only make it better.
