Last week was New York Fashion Week, where various designers shared their collections for Fall 2014. One of my favorite places to go for Fashion Week coverage, is The New York Times. Online, this publication successfully shares the collections and breaks down the trends for the the upcoming season. This time, the site featured "fashion fingerprints," abstract color strips that reinforce the importance of color in fashion. These color strips make it easy for anyone to understand the color trends of Fall 2014. After a quick review you will see a theme of pale blue, violet, mauve (now referred to as old rose), and gray. In addition to these pale tones there are earthy shades, black and white, cobalt and Pantone's color of the year, orchid.
